Blog #11 Signing Out

Image result for blogs

When the instructor told us about the blog assignment I wasn't a fan of it, actually I thought it was useless and a waist of time. As started to read other people's blog I found it interesting because everybody had different ways in addressing the topic. Also, in the self generated topics we found out what people were into like their favorite music, shoes, and what they like doing.

We learned the different kind of journals like personal, professional, etc.. This blog project also helped with essays because the author had to keep it professional tone and that's what we had to do in the essays as well. Writing a blog helped you with the hybrid class because it is basically what you are going to do a couples of weeks. Bloggers find it surprising of the comments because many of the other bloggers agree with what you have to say. Blogging is valuable because in the self generated blogs you can express what you feel or think instead of just sucking it up.

Personally I did enjoyed blogs because it is a easier way to interact because everyone is communicating through technology!

Entry #10 Tattoos

Have you ever heard don't judge a book by its cover? Well people around the world have been judge for having tattoos! People I grave ink in their bodies for religious purposes, some for impacts they had on their life, and others "just because".
Hawaiian men tattoo their body or face because of their culture. They tattoo tribal designs according to their village, family, or islands; basically they have social strata. Other tattoos were to symbolize if they were warriors, demonstrating love for their love ones, or so show grief and sorrow.

Major popularity of people tattoo their skin to show a great impact in their life good or bad. I have a friend that tattooed a snake on his arm because when he was little he got stung by one.
Some gang members have awesome and unique tattoos because some have secret messages on them.

Entry #9 Media

I always thought media and the media were the same thing. Though last time we were having a discussion about it in class and they are completely different things. Media is how you are addressing something, for example an ad. Media is all around we depend on it everyday and we don't even notice. There is more of media than you really think so, don't think so, next time analyze the news and see how every time we only get one side of the story instead of both so it's making it easier to choose a side. Once you understand everything about media you'll realize the meaning behind it and start breaking apart anything you see or hear in the television, social media or even the radio.
Media is everywhere!

Entry #8 Parkour

Have you ever heard of parkour better known as free-running? The word parcour comes from the French and it's was used in the French Special Forces. Parcour means "the way through" or "the path". The "c" was later change to "k" by the inventor and actor, David Belle. He has made many movies and uses parkour in it, like the movie Brick Mansions where he partners up with Paul Walker. His parkour segments were to move from point a to point b.

Parkour sounds pretty cool, it uses a lot of strength and a lot of cardio. Once you know how to do this you would have no obstacles just pure freedom. Parkour is all about failing but not giving up until mastering it. To not think in what your next step is but to feel it. Parkour has become one of the extremist sports but one of the favorite one among the young ones.

Entry #7 Dumb Men

Dumb men, a site where men are diminished in a funny way. Scrolling through the site there are many short clips/ commercials of "men being men". In many of the videos guys are doing stupid stuff, being jerks, or treated bad by their girlfriends or wives. The creator's message is to open the
eyes of many men in how they are stereotyped in commercials just to make a sell.

This video above is about how stupid the "white" guy is looking for his subway. He asks the girl right next where his sub was and she points to where it was. The other guy was eating it and he still asks him where it was. The guy eating says he don't know but after he eats that one he will help him find his. Having all the evidence in front of him; he still asks.

Entry #6 From Paris With Love

Everyone heard the news about the terrorist attacks in Paris? It was devastating, there was a total of 120 innocent civilians killed and 352 wounded during the massacre. The militants were armed with explosive belts and machine guns a target random civilians across Paris. The locations were the stadium; concert hall, which an event was in progress; two restaurants; and a bar. . French President, Francois Hollande, blamed the Islamic group called ISIS for the acts that happened Friday.
The whole world (allies) paid their respects for Paris by flashing the colors of the France flag.

France responded by dropping 20 bombs in the terrorist training camp in Syria. It was "an eye for an eye" but we all know this isn't going to stop here and more acts are going to happen in the future and by the looks of it, it's going to be pretty soon. I can smell World War 3!

Entry #5 ASU Shorter Classes

ASU shorting classes isn't a good idea. Why you ask? Students tend to forget what they did in a four month semester. Students are going forget the subject faster if ASU shortens the classes. Also, taking online classes is much fun, you must take face-to-face courses to learn better. Well that's how I like learning, it's way better.

For the people who like taking online classes and don't forget what they learn, I say go ahead. It's a great program you graduate faster and save a lot of money. It's going to be difficult maintaining all those courses but everyone has to scarify something if they want to be successful, even if it's your freedom for a couple of weeks.
Faculty is going to be happier because of shorter classes but like it said in the article they are going to shorten the vacation as well. That won't be much fun for instructors.

Entry #4 Just Do It

Have you ever tried to do something, but you say to yourself "I'm not good enough"? Do it or try it anyways! You'll will not know if you are capable to do something until you do it! That's what William Wallace did in the movie Braveheart. He didn't know what he was capable, until, he successfully manage an army and defeated the English in a battle. This is what his dad told him before dying..

Life is full of risk and be brave to take the challenge and prove you are better than you think. When we were little we thought to ourselves we can't and would never know how to ride a bike. Days or months later you were up in that bike didn't notice do did it. Fear is just an emotion that many of us surpass, but is bigger than the feeling of accomplishment. Why? You ask? It is because you don't notice it, but your accomplishment is the breeze hitting your face when riding the bike.

Try out new things, don't let fear control you. You won't now what you're capable of!

FYI- I was watching Braveheart while doing the blog and got inspirational!!

Entry #3 Slanted Reporting

Today's news reporters don't actually report current events. Well they do cover the story but not as much detail as what happen. Reporters care more about catching the viewers (audience) attention than covering actual facts, and why blame them. Many people now a days like watching reality shows than the history or discovery channel. They want something that "pumps" them up. News reporters add their own "reality" sprinkle into the actual news to attract more viewers. They "slant report" (also known as bias reporting [good or bad]) in the people's favor.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/10/16/media-bias-in-coverage-israeli-palestinian-violence-when-terror-becomes-tensions.html

The url above demonstrates one of this slanted reporting. Reporters in this case took a side (Palestinian) by saying that Israelis decided to have "A Day Of Rage" and reporting what the Israelis did, and how many people they injured. What they leave out is what cause this tension and what the Palestinians (police and citizens) did to the Israelis. Which they murder citizens and even children!

Reporters cut out many of the facts, which they make the viewers take a side, and decide in the good and bad not knowing what really happen.

Entry#1 Blog Thoughts

Knowledge is good when discussing or trying to point out something, but where do you get that knowledge? You get it from little things you read which commonly are blogs. Blogs give out information whether is from something someone did last night to celebrity gossips. The author has the power to make it a personal or professional depending on the word choice used. Blogs make it easier for people when searching something because of the way the information is establish. My favorite blog is http://mmajunkie.com/ it show me everything that's going on in UFC.
Which I can't wait for UFC 193 November 14!

Practice Blog

Jose Pelagio signing in and this is my first time blogging.  I'm from California and moved to Phoenix in 2005. My interest are hanging out with my family and friends. I also like watching movies, especially when it involves crime! I enjoy playing videogames as well but don't have a lot of time to do so anymore.

My goals for attending GCC are to find a career I like and follow it. Until I find that career I'm just doing my Associate's Degree and going on higher Math courses as I can. I found it funny that in high school I didn't do so good like I'm doing in college, maybe reality hit me as finishing high school!
